Good Times!

“Me And This Dog Hang Out All The Time. Jealous?”

Don’t worry about it, though. Regular dogs are still pretty cool.

I watched the premiere of Dollhouse just this morning. It wasn’t not good. It didn’t make me laugh, which was fairly disappointing for a Joss Whedon production. It was neat though, an easy watch. And while Eliza Dushku isn’t the best actress, I mean truly. She’s not very good. I’m enamoured by the Nepali actress that plays the character of Sierra. She’s pretty cool.

I realize I just said “cool” a couple times, and I also realize that twice is two times too many. I CAN’T STOP. This weekend gone by, it was all I could do to avoid using it as a descriptor for just about everything. It is a good thing though, that almost everything to happen this weekend was cool. Save for the wee morning hours of Valentine’s Day, during which bottles, glasses, and tumblers of alcohol finally caught up with me.

Nicole’s boots got the worst of it. And for that I feel awful.

You are SUCH a Dan.

Nicole: I love how your goal in life is to freak out people, that you are just meeting and have to drive 4 hours with. Haha

Jana: hahahaha

Jana: yeeeeeah, so I’m going to download this mp3, and it’s going to be the FIRST SONG I play when she gets in the car

Jana: and I’m just going to say, yeah I LOVE metal.

I’ll be playing this song first thing, when my best friend Nicole’s roommate Brad’s girlfriend Mary enters my car.

I’d Appreciate Golden Oldies Recommendations. If You’re Willing.

I’ve been downloading many an album in preparation for my pending 4-5 hour long drive to New Brunswick. The new additions as of today, have included: Paper Trail, Universal Mind Control, Bake Sale, and †. Thus far, the Justice download has been the most played. Upon first listen, Common doesn’t seem to have the same hold on me as he used to. He’s still as attractive as ever, voice included. But it’s just, it’s just so SOON.

But what I’d like are some old songs, as well. My mind has wandered to: The Kinks, The Animals, Jefferson Starship, and also… Bob and Doug Mackenzie. What I’d REALLY like though, is a group I’ve not heard of, with an album that’ll make my trip incredible. Ehhhhhh, I’ll have to check with my dad in the morning. I remember driving with him a few years ago with my Muse CD playing, and he said they reminded him of another group from when he was younger.

Well, I’d established that both me and Nicole would be donning our Ryu headbands when celebrating my birthday, but talking to her today, I was inspired. We’re going out for a Valentine’s Day dinner with her boyfriend, Owen. Thinking it’d be awkward to make reservations for three on such a day, she suggested that their roommates Seb and Corey join us as well. So, I’ve got it in my mind that the three of us, Seb, Corey and I, are in an open relationship. With this bit of information, I said to Nicole “Wouldn’t it be awesome, if my two dates wore the headbands to symbolize their fight for my affection.” She just laughed, stating that it probably wouldn’t happen. I pointed out that they’re indeed red! QUITE appropriate for feuding valentines to wear. Needless to say, I’m excited.

I’m easy to please, but Nicole said she’d have something ready for us to eat when I arrived. First to come to mind, shrimp ring, still semi-frozen, kethup and bbq sauce for dipping. Well, they don’t have shrimp rings, but they do have uncooked shrimp and scallops, so she said she’d make a stir-fry. This is after I asked if she had rice, ketchup, and brown sugar. One of my favourite, favourite things to eat when combined and heated. Well, she was fairly adament that I eat a proper meal. So, we compromised, and while I have my scallops and rice with ketchup and sugar, her and Owen will have theirs with peanut satay. Doesn’t bother me none! I just gotta be me. Ya know?

I’ve also prepared an outfit in my style (plain, and completely, upsettingly casual) for Nicole to wear when we go out after dinner that evening. It will include my v-neck, and skirt. Of course, she’d wear it with boots of her own. It IS winter, after all. I’ve been lucky with my thrift finds lately, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my “new to me ” blazer will be dry cleaned with the shoulder pads removed in time for the trip. I have a dress that I’d absolutely love to wear it with. I think they’d end up being near the same length. Which is what I desire.  I never have luck with finding relevant used clothing, and so the excitement is palpable! Hopefully the abundance of exclamation marks are making you guys feel it, too!

Wee update: I’m listening trough Nas’ Untitled, and it makes me anxious. I don’t think I’ll be driving to this one.
